17.jpgTwo seperate stories are floating around this morning about George Lucas and those wee little space films of his. First off, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the director announced yesterday at ShoWest that he's planning on re-releasing each of his six Star Wars films in 3-D; he'll start with the original film, 1977's A New Hope, which should roll out in 2007 in time for the 30th anniversary of its premiere. Meanwhile, Reuters reports that the director's deal with Cingular Wireless will include a new Sony Erickson phone pre-loaded with sounds, music and graphics from the latest installment in the saga, Return of the Sith. The phone will be made available five weeks before the film hits theaters this May.
