Trier,-Lars-von.jpgJust when you thought Danish auteur Lars Von Trier had run out of tricks, his career is taking another unexpected turn, this time towards television comedy. With Dogville sequel Manderlay in the can, Von Trier is writing at least one episode of Klovn (Clown), an improvised sitcom produced by his company Zentropa. The show, which airs on TV2 Zulu in Denmark, mimics the style of Von Trier's Dogme 95 movement, which aimed to strip cinema of artifice and superficiality, but which has been dismissed by many as a publicity gimmick. The Guardian UK has more on this story.
