So why is Warner Brothers releasing Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous today? March 24? Thursday?

Beats the hell out of me. Is Easter Weekend the New Christmas? Or, perhaps more accurately, is Warners hoping to throw a box office spike into a usually sallow part of the year by *convincing* us that Easter Weekend is the New Christmas??  The obvious, cynical explanation is that they need to guarantee a strong opening weekend; the easiest way to do that, apparently, is to redefine the parameters of "the weekend". But it's not exactly a vote of confidence, if you have to buy your film a day's jump on the competition...
