Why is it that Gwen Stefani can star in a Martin Scorsese movie, but actors-turned-rockers are universally reviled? Oh, right - because of The Return of Bruno. Anyway, Russell Crowe has announced the breakup of his band, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts. But don't get smug just yet - according to the BBC, the actor is writing songs and looking forward to "performing with a new line-up." He'll release a single called "Raewyn" through ITunes on April 9, about which he claims, "I have e-mails from Sting and Billy Bragg, two of my songwriting heroes that give testament to the quiet power of the song." More on those emails as this story develops; in other news, it appears that Dogstar are still going strong.
