Speaking of Lindsay Lohan, Mark Waters - director of Freaky Friday and Mean Girls and thus the man largely responsible for the success of everyone's favorite tartlet - has signed on to helm a remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for Paramount. Danny Kaye starred in the 1947 original, as a shy outsider with an active fantasy life. The remake will be produced by Samuel Goldwyn, Jr, and his son John. The elder Goldwyn has been trying to get the project running for years, first at New Line and then at Paramount, with Jim Carrey once attached to star. No word yet on casting for this new incarnation.
