Paramount Pictures has made an official announcement this afternoon that they are bringing in Gail Berman, formerly of Fox TV, to replace current president Donald De Line. She'll stay on at Fox until May. Berman has lots of TV experience but has never worked for a film studio in an executive capacity; in a statement given to Variety, she acknowleged that, but stressed her experience working with feature filmmakers (such as Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Bryan Singer) in a television context. "I recognize that there is some skepticism so I come into this with a great deal of humility," Berman said. Brad Grey, Paramount's chief executive who wooed Berman for "several weeks" before hiring her, stated that he's certain Berman will be "a stunning success."
