For years now we’ve heard many times that George Lucas is contractually obligated, due to marketing deals, to deliver films that earn a PG rating. So when Lucas told 60 minutes that Revenge of the Sith may be the first Star Wars movie to get a PG-13, we chalked it up as a ploy to get the fanboys excited.

And the fan boys did indeed get excited.

Well, according to aintitcool, it’s official… Revenge of the Sith is PG-13 for “sci-fi violence and some intense images.”

Does this mean the movie will be good? No. But it does mean that George didn’t cut the movie to sell out even more (if that's even possible?). It needs to be violent, The Jedi will die. So this is indeed good news, for the fanboys and for everyone else.
