Mel GibsonMel Gibsoncouldn't find the time to visit the Pope, but he can find the time to make a movie about him. Usually Hollywood waits a couple months before making such an announcement but, well, we all know Gibson operates outside of the normal system.

The New York Postreported that Gibson has announced plans to make a film on the life of the late Pope John Paul II. Gibson even sent a few crew members to The Vatican to film some of the crowds gathered to say goodbye to the late Pope. The scenes will apparently be inserted into his upcoming film.

When Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon were on the field during the World series to film a scene for Fever Pitch, some baseball loyalists complained. So why is it that Gibson can do no wrong and is treated like a god among Catholics?
