tarnation.jpgI wasn't a fan of Tarnation - Jonathan Caouette's dumpster-dive home-movie about his family's showdown with various varieties of mental illness - but it's undeniable that the director gives great interview. In the Guardian UK, the filmmaker - in a spray-paint style of conversation tha has similarites to his cinematic aesthetic - recounts his strange sucess, and drifts back to strange circumstances - not to mention nights spent with horror films and strawberry virgin margaritas - that spawned it. Ultimately, the film becomes the therapy that Caouette's always needed. "I've had to deprogramme myself," he says.
