carradine.jpgThe BBC is reporting that Keith Carradine, Oscar winning songwriter (for his contribution to Robert Altman's Nashville) and half-brother of Kill Bill's David, has been cast as George W. Bush in a play soon to hit the Los Angeles stage. Stuff Happens, by Blue Room scribe David Hare, is based in part on public documents relating to the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Its title comes from a comment made by Donald Rumsfield in 2003, in regards to post-strike looting: "stuff happens... and it's untidy, and free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things". Stuff is set to premiere at the Mark Taper Forum on June 5th; the cast will also include John Michael Higgins as Rumsfeld, and Julian Sands as Tony Blair.
