Artistic director Thierry Fremaux confirmed today that new films from all of the above veteran filmmakers will screen at this year's festival; the rest of the lineup will veer heavily towards American and returning filmmakers. Last year's winner was Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11; this year, not a single documentary film has been selected to show in competition, although there will be a special screening of Adam Curtis's controversial anti-neo-con essay The Power of Nightmares. The final installment of George Lucas' Star Wars epic will also screen out of competition.

Much is still up in the air - Emir Kusterica's jury has not been finalized, and the fest's opening night film, Dominik Moll's Lemming, was only selected yesterday. More details are expected next week - until then, the full lineup is available here.
