zizek01.jpgI got this one from GreenCine, and boy, am I glad I did: Slavoj Zizek, everyone's favorite newlywed philosopher, is finally getting his own documentary (Derrida R.I.P.). Zizek! (yes, that's really the title), directed by Astra Taylor, "trails the thinker as he crisscrosses the globe ...  obsessively reveals the invisible workings of ideology through his unique blend of Lacanian psychoanalysis, Marxism, and critique of pop culture." Awesome!

There's a website, and also a clip - notable for a jokey riff on Judith Butler that will be funny to me and exactly three other people. PLUS, there's a screening, in San Francisco, this Thursday night at the Roxie - to be followed by a Q & A with Taylor, editor Laura Hanna, and, of course, Mr. Z. If anyone goes, do write in and tell us all about it.
