Steven Soderbergh has signed a deal to shoot six high-definition movies for Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban's HDNet Films, "to be released simultaneously in theaters, on television, and on homevideo." Soderbergh's product will journey through the entire vertically-integrated Cuban/Wagner 2929 Entertainment tube: theatrical distribution will be handled by Magnolia Pictures, for exhibition in Landmark Theaters; 2929's cable channel HDNet Movies will handle television distribution. The first of the six films, Bubble, a murder mystery set in a small Ohio town, is in production now. HDNet Films recently produced Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room.
