It just wouldn't be a weekday Arts & Leisure without another reactionary industry "report" from Sharon Waxman. Kingdom of Heaven grossed $20 million over the weekend and "Hollywood", Waxman writes, "is getting worried." Nevermind the fact that $20 million was on the high end of studio expectations; or that Heaven is just one in a long list of period epics to do disapointing business in the last year; or that the majority of Kingdom's reviews "declared [Orlando] Bloom's performance inadequate." Waxman purses her lips and ponders, "Are people turning away from lackluster movies, or turning their backs on the whole business of going to theaters?" Hmmm ... provacative!
