2688_001_thumb.jpgDanny Boyle has given his okay to a Chinese remake of his 1993 film, Shallow Grave - and he sounds incredibly excited about it. "“If you are going to remake Shallow Grave you would make it in Shanghai,” he told the Times Online. “What a brilliant place to do it — it’s bursting with capitalist frenzy." Boyle's orginal starred Ewan McGregor and told the story of a group of Edinburgh-based yuppies driven to violence by greed - basically American Psycho, but slightly less over-the-top and set in Scotland. "Boyle’s films are about the division between the country and the city, about yuppies and the newly moneyed," said film critic Mark Cousins. "Perhaps the Chinese could even improve on the original.”
