Yahoo! Movies has added a new layer of personalization in an attempt to make it the one and only website people need to visit: personalized movie recommendations. The service requires a Yahoo! ID and allows you to not only get recommendations on current releases but also on movies out on DVD.

I tried out the service and found it to be skewed slightly toward mainstream releases as opposed to independent movies, despite the fact you can enter your own preference between the two as part of the setup. Also, it thought I would like Monster-in-Law, which must mean there's an evil mastermind behind the system.
