I think I'm going to be in the "believe-it-when-I-see-it" camp on this one, but reports are floating around (again) that a movie based on The Simpsons is in pre-production. Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson, tells BBC 1, "We've just done the table read for the Simpsons movie so although we've been promoting that we're going to do it, now we're actually doing it and are in production." Details are still sketchy - "I don't know the name of it and I can't go into details about it," says Cartwright - but she did say that it will probably take at least two years to make, which makes sense - I once read that it takes at least a year to make a single, half-hour Simpsons episode, from script meeting to voice sessions to animation to air. Cartwright, for her part, has faith that the project will be worth the wait. "I think it's going to be great and the fans are going to dig it." [via The Movie Blog]
