I went on about four dates with a former Miramax development assistant, and considering he talked about his days there like it was Vietnam, I guess it was only a matter of time before someone gave the Weinstein Brothers the "deliciously dishy"(ugh) Devil Wore Prada treatment. Rachel Pine's The Twins of Tribeca tells the tale of "Glorious Pictures and Phil and Tony Waxman, the notorious twin brothers who co-founded the film studio and now run it with four iron fists." Uh-huh. The New York Daily News read it so I wouldn't have to (thanks, guys - I totally owe you one) and figured out which very thinly veiled composite is standing in for which silly member of the Miramax empire. See if you can guess this one: "two actors who would...win an Oscar for co-writing a screenplay... The authenticity... was always in question...they became the film industry's very own Milli Vanilli, although they were never stripped of their award." I think I'm having Afflection just thinking about it...
