Fast-food giant McDonald's is expanding its in-store DVD rental service. Kiosks will be placed in restaurants containing over 500 discs, mostly current blockbusters and other recent favorites. Customers will be able to rent the movies for $1 a day and movies must be back by 10 P.M. the next day. After that it's a buck a day for 25 days, at which point you own the disc. One thing I couldn't find in the article was whether customers would be able to return movies to different stores. If you're taking a road trip that could be a huge issue. I actually think this is the perfect idea since the vast majority of modern movies are exactly like McDonald's food: They satisfy your hunger but there's absolutely nothing good for you in them.
