James Cameron's Battle Angel is (or was?) supposed to start production in December, but The Hollywood Reporter says that the director is shifting his full attention to a project entitled Project 880. Both films would be shot in 3-D with custom-designed high-definition cameras. Which film Cameron does next, we don't know - aparently the guy likes to change his mind. He plans to use a photo-real version of the performance capture technology used by Robert Zemeckis on The Polar Express.

What is going on with this guy? Somehow he got distracted from making good feature films by television shows, IMAX documentaries, and this 3-D revolution which I predict won't happen. Come back Jim! Come back to the 2-D movies - we loved you here!
