• Warner Bros. Pictures bought Genevieve Jolliffe and Andrew Zinnes' horror/comedy spec script Absolute Angels. The story follows a high school outsider who is invited to join the cheerleading squad only to find out the girls are a pack of vampires. Queer as Folk writer Karen Walton will do a quick rewrite. Mosaic Media's Charles Roven and Alex Gartner will produce. Urban Ghost Story's Genevieve Jolliffe will direct. Sounds like a female lost boys to me, could be good.
  • Universal Pictures bought Silence, the second script by Saw writers James Wan and Leigh Whanell. The story follows a man who returns to his hometown in order to unearth clues to his wife's murder. Twisted Pictures’ Greg Hoffman, Mark Burg and Oren Koules will produce. James Wan, who made his debut with Saw, will also direct. Amber Valletta and Ryan Kwanten will star. I liked Saw and there's already a bunch of buzz behind this one. I know I'll be looking forward to it.
