Good news for lazy people. If you thought Netflix made renting movies a snap, you may be interested in Rupert Murdoch's new plan to have home satellite systems equipped with DVRs which would record the movie and then allow the viewer to "rent" the movie and view it on their TV. No more driving to the video store or loading up your pack mule to pick up Netflix DVDs from your mailbox. Perhaps we could even incorporate cloning technology and create tiny "Button Slaves" to manipulate the remote for us so we don't have to expend more energy than necessary. I would name mine "Mittens" and make him wear a top hat. "Mittens!" I would say, "I desire to watch Eraserhead. Now make it so."
If Murdoch can accomplish that, then maybe I'll seriously consider his idea.
