• Warner Bros. Pictures optioned Guardians of Ga'Hoole, the first in a series of seven books (which were all optioned). Author Kathryn Lasky will adapt her book for the animated feature film. The children's fantasy takes place in a parallel universe, with a cast of owls and magic transformations exists. The first book begins with a young barn owl being pushed out of his family's nest by his older brother and then being rescued by agents from a mysterious school for orphaned owls. Donald De Line will produce. Lasky will also executive produce. Sounds too much in the vien of Harry Potter if you ask me.
  • Warner Bros. Pictures announced Yucatan, which is based on 1,700 pages of recently discovered notes and storyboards done by Steve McQueen for a project he hoped to star in. The story follows a group of thieves who head to Mexico to find a treasure buried for centuries beneath the Yucatan peninsula. A Man Apart's Paul Scheuring wrote the action heist. Heyday’s David Heyman will produce.  Chad McQueen and Lance Sloane, McQueen’s son and godson who found the pages in a vault, will executive produce.
