The long-awaited film adaptation of American McGee's Alice is finally about to go into production, with Sarah Michelle Gellar starring as Alice. Marcus Nispel, who did the Texas Chainsaw remake, is directing the film for Universal.

Adapted by Erich and Jon Hoeber, Alice returns to a dark and dangerous Wonderland after the murder of her family and the destruction of their home. It's in Wonderland that Alice must confront her fears before she can return to her normal life.

A film version of the game, created by American McGee, has been in the works since 2001. The project was originally set up at Dimension with Milla Jovovich and Wes Craven attached. This should be a great fantasy horror. Even Sarah Michelle can't ruin it.
