- You may have heard that Batman Beginsdidn't meet box office expectations. Well, the IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that Batman Begins: The IMAX Experience debuted with record breaking box office results. The digitally re-mastered IMAX release set the record for IMAX's biggest five day opening, with estimated domestic grosses of $3.16 million, as well as the highest grossing opening day for a Hollywood simultaneous release, at approximately $754,000.
- Variety reports that Batman Begins is part of an eight-title package bought by FX for a total license fee in the $30 million range. Batman Begins will air on FX sometime in late 2007/early 2008 for multiple runs before moving to AMC for a a few airings, and returning to FX to finish out the contract. Constantine, the other comic book film in the package, will air on the network in late 2007, before going to AMC.
