- Disney is moving ahead with Toy Story III - without involvement from Pixar. Though there's still a possibility the studio will negotiate a new contract with the CGI house, Disney's proceeding with the sequel on its own to make a summer 2008 release.
- The re-movie-ization of Hairspray is still on, but its start date has been pushed back to spring 2006. It's unclear whether its the cause or the effect of the delay, but New Line is looking for a new director, and is said to be courting Chicago's Rob Marshall. The project's original helmers were Jerry Mitchell and Jack O'Brien, vets of the Broadway production; they left due to "scheduling conflicts" - a phrase that could mean just about whatever you'd like it to mean.
