Michael Jackson took a trip to France, to talk to filmmaker Mark Stewart about making a documentary in the hopes of repairing his tattered public image. A source told the Daily Express: "Michael has made no secret of his plans to rebuild his career and repair his image with a documentary. Mark was astounded to learn that Michael was aware of his work and had seen one of the films. The impromptu meeting went very well and it is hoped that something positive will come of it."

Jackson had hoped that Martin Bashir's Living With Michael Jackson would help to rejuvenate his career, which is kind of ironic because it started he investigations leading to his recent trial.
