Marlon Brando's earmarked personal copy of the Godfather screenplay sold yesterday at Christie's in New York for $312,800, setting a new world record. The item was only a part of an auction of the actor's personal effects, which raised a total of $2,378,300, far in excess of estimations. But the big news was the script, which had only been estimated to sell for $10,000-$15,000.

I know I'm a big film buff but if I had three hundred thousand dollars to spend on film history it wouldn't be all spent on one script. Maybe a few props from Star Wars or something.
