If you've seen the trailer for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, you've been led to believe that Vince Vaughn has a supporting role in the film. This, however, is not so. Many reviewers have been disappointed by this obvious case of studio lead misleading marketing. Even Vince Vaughn mentions it in a recent interview:
"I did a small little cameo in this Mr and Mrs Smith thing, although if you look at the trailers, you’d think I was in the movie a lot more. I just did a cameo in that."My guess is that his character got high scores (maybe close to Stifler numbers?) at studio test screenings. This caused the marketing people to cut all of his one or two scenes into the trailer. This is not the first time this type of thing has happened. Remember the talking dogs from the Snow Dogs movie trailer?
