Ex-Disney directors Roy E. Disney and Stanley Gold have entered into a truce with the Walt Disney Company, and have agreed to drop their lawsuit against that company's shareholders in the process. Disney and Gold had contested the selection of Robert Iger as Chairman Michael Eisner's successor; they've now agreed to back Iger in that role. In exchange, the company named Disney as a consultant and director emeritus. "In putting aside their differences, the company noted Mr. Disney's long time devotion to the company and welcomed the re-establishment of a relationship with him and his family," read a statement released late Friday. Disney stock rose 55 cents after the announcement.
