Friday's box office estimates are in, and it looks like Fantastic Four earned $20 million in its first day of release. Which is good - considering War of the Worlds, thought to be its only competition this weekend, brought in only $9.3 million. Four is in line to easily trump that film for the weekend, as well as the week's only other major release, Japanese horror remake Dark Water, which made $4 million yesterday. Batman Begins and Mr. and Mrs. Smith seem to have the longest legs of any film released so far this summer; with Friday grosses of $3.1 and $2.5 million, respectively, they should hold on to the top five for one more weekend at least.
