One of the first books I remember reading was Lassie Come Home by Eric Knight. I recall nothing about the book, and hadn't thought much of Lassie until I found out about the most recent film update of the hero dog which is set to feature none other than Peter O'Toole. I have no idea how the movie will perform, but the interview I read with O'Toole, in which the aging actor complains about the difficulty of working with dogs and children, annoying directors, so-called "method actors," and urinating into a river, was especially hilarious. I'm thinking a documentary on the making of the film, centering on O'Toole, could be better than the movie itself.
