In a precedent-setting move, Roman Polanski will testify against the British publishers of Vanity Fair magazine this week - via video feed from a hotel room in Paris. Polanski, of course, can't actually appear in London without risking extradiction to the US, where he'd be forced to face 30-year-old charges of statutory rape. Several other names will appear, though, including Mia Farrow and Debra Tate, sister of Polanski's Manson-slaughtered wife, Sharon Tate. Polanski is suing Vanity Fair for publishing a 2002 anecdote that alleged Polanski was seen in New York, flirting with a "Sweedish beauty" en route to Tate's funeral in Los Angeles.
