five starsChris Null, the founder of, has a new book out there: Five Stars! How to Become a Film Critic, The World's Greatest Job. According to Boing Boing, "His book is useful for anyone interested in getting free stuff, like screener DVDs and tickets to advance screenings."

The book is published by Sutro Press and is going for $24.99 on Amazon, where it has garnered 5 stars from all the reader reviews, but a slap-down from Publisher's Weekly that notes: "While this is a useful book for those who simply want to write reviews for a blog-sized audience, writers looking to break into prestige publications should probably seek advice elsewhere." Blog-sized audience? Get with the times, Pub Weekly. Prestige is for posers.

If you are a publisher looking to release a book to compete with this one, I, for one, would like to see Karina's behind-the-scenes treatise on the film critic industry. If you also would like to see such a thing from Karina, let us know in the comments, and if you happen to read Null's book, let us know what you think.
