Yesterday was declared by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley to be Roger Ebert Day. Ebert received a sidewalk medallion outside the Chicago Theater on State Street in a ceremony emceed by writer and director Harold Ramis. He was then the subject of a tribute and retrospective of his entire almost 40 year career. Reading over the timeline of his achievements is shocking to see how much he just absolutely has to love movies. His career is also quite a testament to how much he loves Chicago since he's stayed here the entire time. Congratulations, Roger.
