My grandfather always had "pin ups" from the World War II era hung up in his house. These obviously weren't the gaudy, sprawling displays of greasy flesh we're used to these days, but they were provocative nonetheless, and perhaps more so in their effort to suggest sexuality, rather than display it like a side of exposed meat dropped onto a cutting board. These pics of starlets, known as "cheesecake" were all the rage from the 1930s to the 1960s, when the zeitgeist shifted and wholesome displays of ribaldry such as these became just another nostalgic item.
