Fans of Rob Zombie -- especially the Rob Zombie who writes and directs horror movies -- might want to check out an interview he did with the Rocky Mountain News. Zombie talks about how his flicks have been influenced not only by the rawness of 70s horror cinema, but by the 70s in general, when people weren't "connected" in the digital sense and there still existed places off the beaten path that seemed almost alien. I'm not going to call Zombie the next great horror filmmaker, but his understanding of horror's golden era means he might be the only true horror fan willing to make a movie that isn't another rehash or a simple mockery of horror stereotypes.
