Okay, so it's not Monday. And it's only barely still morning. But this whole week it's been roughly 800ºF here in New York, and Cinematical is suffering from a bit of heatstroke. So, poll question: what's your favorite movie about summertime? As usual, I'll start ... and, as usual, I'm torn between a highbrow American classic, or a cheeseball 80's guilty pleasure. It's gotta be either Picnic, with William Holden as the hunky drifter who interrupts Kim Novak's Labor Day weekend with his ripply muscles and promise of a life outside her dreary small town; or else it's definitely Dirty Dancing. Mostly just because I think more films should end with musical numbers about dance teachers conquering the Establishment.
