Chris Weitz is apparently having trouble dealing with the technical issues of filming the first part of the movie adaptation of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy, so the job is going to Anand Tucker, instead. Weitz will stay on as a screenwriter, however, along with Tom Stoppard. Pullman's fantasy trilogy has caused some controversy due to religious references, and even more controversy was ignited when Weitz chose to leave many of those references out of the movie.
