Yesterday, Cinecultist quoted Jean-Luc Godard in a salute to two recently-married friends:

"A couple cannot last if they don't share a singular vision of the cinema. One can love rap and detest Beethoven and the other the contrary. But if one loves the cinema of Spielberg and the other detests it, one day, they will separate, because the cinema is still a representation of the world."

Wow. So is *that* why my all of relationships have failed -- because I haven't yet met the guy who loves both Une Femme est Une Femme and Pennies from Heaven, but who still has a healthy respect for the genius of Dodgeball? What do you think?
