dv codeToday's protest comes from a solitary nun in Ireland who feels that filming Dan Brown's "blasphemous" novel at Lincoln Cathedral (the one with the silent bell) is a very bad thing. In preparation for the 12 hours she plans to spend in prayer outside the cathedral, Sister Mary Michael went on a three-day pilgrimage to Ireland, during which she suffered both "privation" and lack of sleep. Additionally, when I heard her on the BBC this morning, she mentioned that she bruised her toe.

While Sister Mary has accepted the fact that her actions are likely to go totally unnoticed by heathens Ron Howard and Tom Hanks, she says her audience is less the people filming inside the cathedral than it is the big guy upstairs. "When I face Almighty God, at my final judgment, as we all will, I can say, I did try my best, I did try my best to protest." Well, that's certainly admirable. I'm sure He appreciates her sacrifice, and is ok with the fact that she hasn't bothered to actually read the book that's got her so wound up.
