"Pierce will be doing it again," said Dame Judi Dench, when asked about casting prospects for the next James Bond film. "It will be announced come summer." Well, summer has come and (almost) gone, and a very different announcement is coming down the wires. Pierce Brosnan will not -- I repeat, will NOT -- be returning as James Bond. "One phone call, that's all it took!" says Brosnan, and with that, negotiations for him to star in a fifth Bond film broke down. He's not exactly upset about it: "I thought. ... I can do anything I want to do now...I'm not shackled by some contracted image." Well, that's one way to look at it. Here's hoping he "wants" to do a Remington Steele reunion movie, because that sounds like a likely next step.
