The Great Raid, one of the first in a series of dumps constituting a massive last-minute shelf purge over at Miramax, made just $3.4 million this weekend on 819 screens -- but Harvey Weinstein insists his campaign has only just begun. Apparently, exit surveys were overwhelmingly positive, so the brothers are operating under the delusion that there's more blood to be milked from this stone. "We plan on adding more screens," Harvey told the LA Times. "With exit surveys like this, my plan is to build that film." Build it into what? Miramax has eight more ancient, long dormant Weinstein-coddled projects to release between now and December. Shouldn't we just move on to the next mismanaged venture? I know I can't wait to start making fun of An Unfinished Life.
