Ben Kingsley has apparently based his Fagin character in Roman Polanski's upcoming Oliver Twist on the dirty, unkempt owner of a junk shop Kingsley once visited in Manchester, England. Kingsley did this instead of listening to tapes Polanski had given him of various Jewish cockney accents. I think Kingsley should just use the accent in all of his movies from now on. I know I would find it endlessly entertaining.
