Christopher Guest has spent the past few years cooking up brutal spoofs of relatively demure topics – folk singers, show dog people. etc. He's switching gears a bit with For Your Consideration, the upcoming project that he'll direct from a script he's co-writing with Eugene Levy. Not a mockumentary but a film-within-the-film film, Consideration will follow three actors working on "an extraordinarily poorly written" movie called Home For Purim, and watches as their lives are shaken up by awards season. "This happens to be an area I know something about," Guest told Variety. "It's a virus." The film will star Ricky Gervais as the head of the studio producing Home for Purim, and a bunch of Guest veterans, including Parker Posey and Harry Shearer. and is on Warner Independent's Fall 2006 release slate.
