Jolly RogerIf consumer tech giant Hewlett-Packard has its way, movie exhibitors the world over will be buying their patented, pirate-proof digital projectors when the industry goes entirely digital (sometime between five years from now and never). In a story on CNETNews.com, venture capitalist and HP board member Tom Perkins suggested that the company was working on a digital projector that would prevent the resulting image from being camcorded, an act which, apparently, theater management and studios don't like all that much. This fact was verified by an HP rep, who did not elaborate (as he was presumably too busy ordering the loose-lipped Perkins' disintigration by orbiting HP satellite).
