Dr. Robert Moog, creator of the synthesizer which bared his name, passed away on Sunday at the age of 71. While praised by many musicians for his contribution to music, Moog's keyboards were also heavily used in film, most notably in A Clockwork Orange, where he worked with composer Wendy Carlos to mold the works of Beethoven into the stark, electronic soundscape which set the film's ominous tone.
