While it's still a major tourist attraction, Las Vegas is nowhere near the swanky cocktail-swilling joint it was when Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack peeps brought a touch of class to the city. George Clooney isn't setting out to change that, but he has invested an undisclosed amount into a $3 billion resort to be constructed east of the strip. Las Ramblas, according to Clooney, will include hotels, a theater, and a casino, among other things. In addition, the resort will hearken back to old Hollywood and old time Las Vegas. I wonder if they'll have an animatronic Rat Pack like the Hall of Presidents. Now that would be classy. Construction is to begin next year.
