Yeah, that's right - someone's making an indie vampire western, and it's *not* Joss Whedon. Reuters is reporting that Mary Lambert has signed on to direct High Midnight. Based on a script by novice Denis Faye, the film will track a down-on-his-luck sheriff who joins forces with an "obsessed Victorian vampire hunter in order to stop an evil, undead force from consuming a frontier town in 1892 New Mexico." I'm extremely amused by the cultural construct of the vampire hunter, and Lambert's got a sense of style that I enjoy (she directed Pet Sematary, which gave me nightmares until I was about 21, as well as Madonna's Material Girl and Like a Prayer videos). So, I'm on board. How about you?
