Rupert Murdoch's News Corp announced yesterday that they're going through with plans to purchase IGN Entertainment, the group behind film-fan mainstays Rotten Tomatoes and Film Force, as well as and a slew of gaming-related sites. Having also recently added Intermix, the publishers of MySpace, to his Fox Interactive Media group, Murdoch seems to be going after full-time internet junkies with full-strength force. There's no real word yet on how the aquisition might affect the gameplan of a site like Rotten Tomatoes, where a good deal of the content is created by the users; do you think there's room for a democratized information exchange within the Fox News model?
